Protector

Raku clay sculptural wallhanging.This original piece is not available. "Protector" was displayed at George Ohr O'keefe museum of Art and featured on their invitations in 2007. Will consider recreating a similar commissioned piece. The InSpiration for it came forth after staying trapped in our home for over 16 hours while hurricane Katrina winds blew over 100 miles per hour. So many of my favorite Trees withstood those winds and Protected us. So many of those Trees did NOT withstand those winds and were sacrificed to protect us. They absorbed the excessive water, they were there for people to climb to safety when the flood waters came. And still, they live in my Awareness as Protectors of Beauty and of Life itSelf.
