Turtle Sings...
SOLD. Hand sculpted clay stoneware sea turtle wallhanging. In all honesty, I thought this fellow he would "crawl" off my kiln shelf when I first saw him after the final firing. I had experimented using underglazes and my own glaze recipes and was pleased with the outccome. Over the years, I have worked on not being so attached to outcome, in spite of the multiple hours that goes into one of these pieces. It has taken a great deal of experimentation and many broken pieces to get to the point where I have greater success. I do not "mass produce" these turtles and usually only make a couple each year since they are so detailed and time-consuming to bring to life. If you are interested in collecting one, please contact me. This lovely and realistic piece was a JOY to create and is awaiting his perfect home.
