Photograph of my friend and apprentice Beverly with her daughter April.Amazingly I had expressed an interest in an apprentice in the studio and the universe fulfilled that desire by bringing us together. In 2007 I was selling two pieces in Ocean Springs, MS at the Art Association. One called "The Protector" did not sell and I was picking it up. Beverly who is actually a bit shy saw the piece and exclaimed that she had loved it so much. And so I gave her my name, phone number and email and asked her to contact me if she had interest in the apprentice position. She did and we have grown very close. I am eternally grateful for her pushing me in some directions that I prefered not to go, but really needed to go. Some of my best work has come forth since she has been hangin out! I will miss her when she moves forward on her Journey.
