Hand-created Raku decorative plate/wallhanging with message on back. This piece has excellent raku crackle in it and survived the extreme temperature changes involved in the raku process.Actual fern from our yard was pressed in the clay and the rest was hand drawn into the clay canvas. It was inspired after seeing dozens of tiny humminbirds in our garden the day after hurricane Katrina. We live within a mile of the beach and stayed in our home. I had carried some of my flowering plants into the house and brought them out after the storm. All the leaves and flowers were torn off the plants and tress outside. Amazingly many of these tiny birds survived and were looking for the sweet nectar of the flowers to survive. THAT is a story you did NOT hear on the news!
